1947

Rose Repetto creates her first ballet shoes on the advice of her son Roland Petit, in a tiny workshop near the National Opera of Paris.

1952

Madame Repetto launches her first advertising campaign.

1956

On Brigitte Bardot's request, Rose Repetto creates the 'Cendrillon' ballerina and dedicates it to her. For BB, this ballerina will always be a part of her success in Vadim's film 'Et Dieu créa la femme'.

1959

Rose Repetto opens her first boutique at 22 Rue de la Paix in Paris. It becomes the place frequented by the world's prima ballerinas: Bejart, Noureev, Barychnikov, Carolyn Carlson, the Kirov at the 'Folies Bergères', all are supplied with their dancing shoes and garments by Repetto.

1964

Leonor Fini designs our famous logo.

1967

With a view to expanding her company, Rose Repetto establishes a factory in Saint Medard d'Excideuil in Dordogne, France. Nowadays, the pointe shoes and ballerinas are still made using the famous 'stitch and return' method with the highest skill.

1970

Serge gainsbourg got fascinated by the 'Zizi', a shoes model, created by Rose Repetto for Zizi Jeanmaire her daughter in law. He became the ambassador of the brand.

1999

Jean-Marc Gaucher takes over Repetto with the ambition to breath new life into the firm.

2000

First partnership between Repetto and Issey Miyake.

2002

First partnership between Repetto and Yohji Yamamoto.

2004

First partnership between Repetto and Comme des Garçons.

2005

The Dordogne factory celebrates the one millionth pair of ballerinas produced using the 'stitch and return' method. A partnership is formed between Repetto and the Compiègne University of technology to develop a 'revolutionary' ballet shoe.

2009

First partnership between Repetto and Karl Lagerfeld.

2010

The curtain rises on the Atelier Repetto. This exceptional service offers every woman the opportunity to create her personalised and unique ballerina, chosen from 252 varieties. Every single piece is put together in a unique and traditional way inspired by craftman's aspirations.

2011

To meet considerable demand, in particular from the Japanese and Korean markets, Repetto expands the factory in Saint Medard d'Excideuil by an additional 3 000 m2, in order to produce 500 000 pairs of ballerina shoes a year.

2012

Repetto opens its training school in the South of France on January 20th 2012. The aim of this unique school in France is to train all Repetto workshop employees as well as 150 new employees in leather craft in order to meet the growth in activity of our Maison. Thanks to this 6-month training, these employees will be able to make an entire 'stitch and return' ballerina shoe in accordance with our unique know-how.

2013

Repetto launches its first Perfume, L’eau de toilette, delicate blend of Pear and Cherry Blossom, Rose and Orange Blossom and Vanilla and Amber Wood. It subtly evokes the grace, the lightness and the femininity of Ballet Dancers. In 2014, L’Eau de Parfum makes its debuts.
