For Dance for Life, a dancer's outfit is not only intended to be aesthetically perfect, it is above all a real tool for quality learning and self-confidence. Making the right move when you have the right slipper then becomes easier and the dream suddenly becomes accessible.
On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the brand in 2007, Jean - Marc Gaucher, president of Repetto, created the Fondation Danse pour la Vie, in order to give more meaning and scope to this anniversary by making it more "human ".
The objective is to support dance schools around the world by promoting the reintegration of children in distress through artistic expression.
The Dance for Life Foundation wishes to associate itself with projects on a human scale which use dance as a tool for education, reintegration and personal development and whose results are concretely visible on the ground.
It offers a unique alliance between art and humanitarianism. Due to lack of financial means, some children do not dare to enter a dance school because the equipment and outfits are too expensive.
Others practice their art with slippers so worn that their dream of future stars fades when the pointe shoes give up the ghost and the tights tear.
This is why the Foundation equips children from dance schools that it selects all over the world (Cuba, Haiti, South Africa) with equipment (slippers, pointe shoes, tutus, ballerinas, tights, etc.). , Brazil, Ukraine…).
