CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Made mostly from leather, a material that is both natural and living, special care must be taken in maintaining your bags. Over time and with wear, your leather goods will evolve: the shape will soften and the leather will develop a patina. These natural changes are a testament to the evolution of your leather and will make your piece unique.

Preserve the Elegance of Your Bag

Wearing

Protect your product and maintain its shine by regularly waterproofing it.
Do not overfill your bag to preserve its original shape.

Protection

Prolonged contact with water, sunlight, strong artificial lights, heat, and greasy or alcoholic substances (like hand cream) should be avoided to prevent damage such as discoloration of the material or even yellowing of light-colored leathers. Similarly, avoid prolonged contact and repeated friction with bleeding textiles such as dark jeans or new clothing, which can transfer their pigments. Therefore, we advise against pairing light-colored leather with dark clothing, and vice versa. Also, avoid abrasive surfaces that could damage the leather through rubbing or snagging, especially on the most exposed areas such as the bottom of the bag, corners, or metal parts.

Care

Keep your product away from water. If it gets wet or its surface becomes stained, gently wipe it with a clean, soft cloth and then allow it to dry naturally.

Conservation

To protect your product when not in use, store it in the dust bag provided at purchase, ideally with its tissue paper, and keep it away from moisture, heat, and light. For bags with shoulder straps, wrap the straps in tissue paper and place them inside the bag to avoid marks on the outer leather.

Store your shoes after airing them out, with heels facing outward, in their dust bag and box, in a dry place away from any heat source and direct sunlight. Indeed, exposure to the sun or contact with other leathers or materials can damage or fade your leather. We also recommend using tissue paper to maintain their original shape.

Repetto Materials

Classic Leather

Our leather is full-grain, supple, and of excellent quality. A protective surface treatment is applied to the hide, making it more resistant to light and abrasion. It has a smooth appearance and may show variations in grain from one piece to another, making each item unique.

  • Regularly clean the surface of your bag with a soft cloth to remove dust.
  • Protect it from light, heat, and moisture to avoid damaging the leather.
  • Regularly waterproof your bag and use appropriate care products, such as our Embellisseur balm, specifically designed to nourish, protect, and shine the leather.
  • For superficial stains, gently dab with a damp cloth.
  • Store it using tissue paper to maintain the shape of the bag and prevent creases.

Patent leather and vegan patent leather

On a leather or textile base, a patent coating is applied to the surface after achieving the desired dye color. This leather undergoes a specific treatment that gives it a shiny, sophisticated appearance and makes it resistant to abrasion and scratches.

  • Regularly clean the surface of your bag with a soft cloth to remove dust.
  • Protect it from light, heat, and moisture to avoid damaging the leather.
  • Use suitable care products, such as our Sublime Oil, specially designed to maintain the shine of your leather.
  • Due to the risk of color migration, avoid contact between this leather and other leathers or products with dark pigmentation.
  • Store it using tissue paper to maintain the bag's shape and prevent the formation of creases.

Metallic leather

A metallic film is applied to the surface of a leather base. This leather undergoes a specific treatment that gives it a metallic, modern appearance. It is a delicate leather, sensitive to friction, snags, or scratches.

  • Regularly clean the surface of your bag with a soft cloth to remove dust.
  • Protect it from light, heat, and moisture to avoid damaging the leather.
  • Regularly waterproof your bag and use suitable care products, such as our Enhancing Balm, specially designed to nourish, protect, and enhance the shine of the leather.
  • Store it using tissue paper to maintain the bag's shape and prevent creases.
